In-Transit Fumigation Services

Once cargo is loaded, the clock starts ticking. In-transit fumigation allows treatments to be carried out while your shipment is already on the move, saving time, avoiding costly delays at port, and keeping global trade flowing.

Our team provides Department of Agriculture-approved in-transit fumigation services for containers or bulk cargo such as grain, wood pellets, and cotton using globally recognised fumigants. Treatments commence after loading and are carefully monitored according to the specific requirements of the importing country.

In-transit fumigation treatments

Once the cargo is loaded, in-transit treatment begins and is actively maintained for the duration of the voyage.

The most common method is recirculation fumigation, where gas is distributed evenly throughout a container or hold using a fan system, so every part of the cargo, receives uniform exposure to the fumigant.

For bulk commodities treated in-transit, we use Department of Agriculture-approved fumigants that are accepted in markets worldwide:

FAQs

About In-transit Container Fumigation Services

What is in-transit fumigation?

In-transit fumigation is when cargo is treated with fumigant gases while the vessel is already at sea. Treatment begins immediately after loading and continues during the voyage, so the cargo is ready to discharge on arrival without costly port delays.

We supply and install monitoring equipment (fans, clips, probes, etc.) and provide clear instructions to the crew. Gas levels are tracked throughout the voyage in line with the requirements of the importing country.

Yes. We provide nationwide coverage and can set up in-transit fumigation at approved facilities, container yards, or directly on vessels prior to departure.

We operate 24/7 and understand the time pressures of shipping schedules. In most cases, fumigation and certification can be completed within the required export window to keep your cargo moving.
